Well, the tally is in and the votes counted. The winner of the Build Your Own Sale catagory is (Drum Roll Please) . . . Import Anime. Our winner will get the priviledge of being 20% off from now until close of business Monday October 5th. And the 3 finalist catagories falling behind but not least are Manga, Figures and wallscolls. Each of our finalists will have the priviledge of joining Import Anime on Sale for the weekend at 15% off until Close of business Monday.

I want to thank all of you who took the time to email in your votes. Not only does it set the tone for the sale, it gives me a better idea of where your main interests lie so we can better serve the Anime community.

Now on to the rest of the story as Paul Harvey was fond of saying. In order to help you get the most out of the sale for your hard earned dollars, we will be taking preorders for all titles put out by FX in the import anime. If you can wait a week or so to get your stuff, we will take all of the orders placed during the sale and have it here to ship in about a week. FX is our fastest shipper and so it enables us to make this offer to our customers. Some things will ship sooner because we do have stock in the store so that our local customers can also participate in the sale but if they don't grab it and you order it, there is no need to wait to ship it. Sort of like a scavenger hunt.

If this line of business goes well, we might expand it to other catagories that we know can be gotten in a reasonable amount of time so our customers don't experience undue delays in receiving their orders. Figures and out of stock Manga are just two of the catagories that immediately come to mind.

Only the sale will tell. Happy Hunting.

The FX pre-order idea seems to work well and we are considering keeping it as a permanent fixture so that you can order an FX title anytime instead of waiting while we restock the shelves. This weekend is Columbus day and even though that isn't a big deal for most of us, unless you happen to work for government, so we decided that we'll have a sale anyway just because we can do so. Now, last week it was the customer's choice as to what was going on sale so this week it is my choice. Being old and feeble with diminished metal faculties, I couldn't really decide what three catagories to put on sale so finally I came to the conclusion that we'll just put them all on sale except for the bargain bin and snacks. So, from the time you get the newsletter until close on Monday all those catagories will be a large 20% off. The FX Pre-order arrangment will also still continue and thanks to our skillful programming expert everything on the site is now marked with the supplier so you won't have to hunt down the FX titles like last week.

Happy Hunting. Let this be your weekend for discovery.

Well, after sitting around here all day, we've come to the conclusion that things are just not getting much better. Despite all of the glad handing, back patting and gloating about how we've got the recession licked and things are on the upswing, we don't see much of it getting down here to our level. Our sales are still off and unless there is a sale, most people just aren't buying anything. We've concluded that, like us, most of you are still feeling the pinch from the cutbacks and slowdowns and that it is possible our prices are now just a little high given the average person's state. That being said, we are going to do something about it. Effect when this news letter hits your computer, all of the prices for the Imported Anime and the Imported Live Action Movies will be dropped down to $7.00 per disc. Not just for this weekend sale but for the foreseeable future. Consider this our little stimulus package to the Anime community and some give back to all of you who have stuck with us through the years. These prices haven't been this low since the Fall of 2007 while we were still in Denver, Colorado.

As for the sale catagories this weekend, we've decided to go with Model Kits, Manga and Domestic Anime to sort of round everything off. We figure a nice even 20% should put things in reach, making the Gundam kits much more affordable as well as helping make more room on the Manga shelves for the new titles coming in every week. The domestic release anime is just a nice touch to celebrate the import anime price rollback. So, from now until close of business on Monday the 26th, be sure to take advantage of the many bargains to be had in the store and on the site.

Well, time to get going and make all of those changes I just talked about. Hope you all are having a good time and a really good weekend. And one last thing, for those of you from the Striker Brigade here at Fort Lewis who are over there and used to shop in the store, the old retired SGM here says to keep your head down and a sharp eye out as I want to see you back here in person when you're done.

I really do appreciate the response to the news letter and we have fixed the undocumented bug that was causing the shiopping cart to be wiped when you tried to check out. All of the affected Anime and Live Action should now be cooperative. Just takes a little warning and a big stick to knock them into line.
