Everyone's heard of this movie by now, thanks to the success of the American remake version. Well, the original is always better than the remake, so I highly recommend "Ring" (sometimes called "Ringu"). The story is very creepy and simple; if you happen to watch a bizarre videotape, you mysteriously die one week later. If you liked the US version, you should love this. Sound/video are not perfect but not actually broken either. Subtitles are white so they are occasionally rendered illegible in bright scenes. Thankfully the movie is very dark so the problem is rare.
