Story Quality: ¤¤¤¤¤ Enjoyability: ¤¤¤¤¤ Charactor Design: ¤¤¤¤¤ Video Quality: ¤¤ Sound Quality: ¤¤ Subtitle Quality: ¤¤		the story makes almost no sense. it feels like you jump in the middle, and are not quite caught up. the special effects are really interesting, but the camera work degrades them. the fight scenes, which are really cool, also suffer from camera work-- very difficult to follow.

To put it simply, it's B-movie heaven. Tons of action, stylistic camera movement, and hammy acting. Just a word of caution, if you're looking for a movie with a strong story, look somewhere else, but if you're looking for a horror-hack-a-thon, you can't get any better than this.

This has to be one of the best movies I've bought on a whim ever. This is a relativy low budget Zombie/Gangster movie high on action, gore, and comedy. I'd highly reccomend it to anyone just looking for a good mindless evening of fun

About the first 5 minutes is slow but then it starts to pick up and gets better the further you get into the story. Bottom line - if you liked the original Night of the Living Dead you are going to LOVE this. Go for it!! Oh yes, I hope you like to see lots of blood being splattered around - plus this has a somewhat surprise ending.

So, I may have been a little hard on the Story Quality. The dvd itself is nice, it comes in a clear dvd case with the badass main character on the front. The back has several screenshots from through the movie. The inside is a typical case, also. It's a nice addition to the collection. I don't have surround sound or anything special the audio was fine for me. Video-great. No fuzzies. =p And it is in widescreen format. Subtitle's- For what little dialogue there is the subtitle's catch them. They stay on the screen for the right amount of time, no off sub's. Perfect. Character Design- This is where the slapstick comedy comes in with the "goons" that are hired to bring the main character in(no names are even given). It's a laugh and a half to see what some of the characters do next. Story- little to none but it's a horror movie. *shrugs* Enjoyability- I thought the movie ran about 20-30 minutes to long. I was hoping for more sword-action but alas, I did not get it. If you love gore, this has plenty of it but don't buy this hoping for Dead Alive. ;) I enjoyed it to the extent I will watch it again sometime. Overall- For the price, it's a great buy and if you love the Horror genre and need a few laughs..this is the movie to get. **NOTE** Only the movie is subtitled, all the extra features are not from what I witnessed. There is even a nice Sidestory to Versus called Nerous(..something close to that) but that isn't subbed, either.

Versus not only offers shear amounts of gore and death, but also hilarious slapstick and dramatization. Director Ryuhei Fitamura himself even admits to being a huge Sam Rami fan. The story is a bit contrived. Two prisoners escape from jail and end up being greeted by the Yakuza who were hired to free and re-capture them. Of course, they meet up in an enchanted forest where the dead are resurrected as zombies. After watching his fellow inmate is shot, killed, and revived as a zombie, our hero saves the woman the Yakuza have captured and runs off into the woods where they find out that their fates together have been entangled for 500 yrs. Filled with zombies, guns, swords and samurai, kung-fu, blood and gore, sorcerers, more zombies, more blood, and knee slappingly funny action sequences, this movie has it ALL.
