Description
Koujou Kazuna's mother died when he was little and has lived with his father's friends, the Eda couple ever since. One day, when he was being the model in the art department for Yaegashi's painting, Issa passed out and was guided by something back to his own home. There, he met once again with his elder sister and was told about the "illness" that struck the Koujou family.
That mysterious "illness" was the the desire for other people's blood. Kazuna has the same illness and so, even in front of Yaegashi, an attack broke out.
Seeing Kazuna suffering from the attacks and the illness, Chisana gives her own blood to the burdened Kazuna.
This was a very sad story, about a brother and sister who share heriditary "illness". It's supposed to be about bloodlust, but I think it's mostly psychological. The end reminded of Romeo and Juliet in that no one understood them or their sickness so they both die together. It's not a bad story. The audio and video were very good, an R2 dvd rip. Now about the subs-they were very good, almost R1 in quality, I really had to look very hard to find even a small mistake. I really appreciated that the interviews were also subbed. Not a bad watch.

Well, this is one of those series that one will either love or hate. It is based on a manga series that is seven volumes long (which has been licensed by Tokyopop and the first volume comes out in May 2004). Unfortunately, Madhouse, the studio that produced it, decided to condense the series into four episodes so a huge chunk of the story is lost. That aside, Madhouse did get some of the biggest voice actors to do the characters including Megumi Hayashibara and Seki Tomokazu. The story focuses on Kazuna, a boy that suffers from a disease that causes him to crave human blood. He had been living with his uncle and aunt who never told him about the family disease hoping that he did not inherit it. Well, it is quickly discovered that he does have it and he moves in with his sister, who also suffers from the disease. This is a wonderful series and I recommend it to any vampire fans. Also note there are tones of incest.
