Description
A KOTOBUKIYA Japanese import! Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation (also known as Super Robot Wars: Original Generation) is a famous video game and anime series featuring non-stop Robot vs Robot combat! Now available outside of Japan for the first time ever! Kotobukiya will have a new SRW Fine Scale Model Kit available for collectors and hobbyists almost every month! Assembly of the figures is required, but painting is optional as the pieces are cast in different colored plastic. Each mecha normally has over 300 individual parts and is marvelously engineered, as once the kits are completed, they are highly poseable action figures (usually with at least 20 points of articulation). In addition, each robot includes weapons and additional moving parts, such as opening ventilation or exhaust ports. Included are pictorial assembly instructions. German by way of Japanese for "Old Iron", this 1/100th (big!) scale robot stands over 8 inches tall, and includes a bonus 3" tall Kyosuke Nanbu pilot figure! The eyes (cameras for the pilot) and tip of the horn are illuminated by an LED light! At the larger scale, this is one of the most deluxe releases, with more gimmicks and moving parts!

Welcome to Earth where yet again TOKYO is under attack by aliens! Earth Defense Family is a unique anime that takes a household, and turns them into super heros! I took it upon myself to buy it after Mr. Tortures review. Here is how it stood up to me. To start I watched the anime all the way through using three yes three different sources. First one is my Flat screen JVC dvd combo, and Logitech Z-680 speakers running Digital Coax. Second is my Toshiba Laptop, and the built in harmon kardon speakers. Finally My living room Mitsubishi TV, and Sony surround sound. Sound Quality: EXCELLENT! I watched in on three different sources, but I got the same quallity! Excellent. It was done dolby digital. There are no pops or hisses. Video quallity: If you wanted to find something wrong with this anime this is where it would be. The anime is beautiful don't get me wrong, but during EVERY I mean EVERY action sequence there was compression. Noticeable compression. This was the reason I pulled out the three sources. The flatscreen tv showed the most noticeable compression. Then came the Mitsubishi, and finally ironically what Mr. Torture said showed the most compression showed me the least ammount of compression! The laptop by far covered up most of the compression. It was still noticeable, but it looked grainy instead of blotchy. Did it make me stop watching? Not in the least. Would it make most of you? Unless you're a perfectionist, and refuse to watch an anime unless it is shown in crystal clear dvd, then I doubt you will be able to pry your hands from this one on account of compression. Let me also mention the compression isn't in the form of big blocks. It's more like blotches. Like what you'd get from watching a high quallity mpeg during an action sequence. Subtitles: ...How to describe? High quallity for HK. Very Very good! You do get a taste towards the end of the series of Engrish. They had a few words that might make you think. Don't they mean INSERT WORD this? They also read thier names backwards. *Last name then first name* I'm sure that most of you reading this have already seen HK Dvds, so know that the subtitles are there! Character Design: Excellent! I'm glad they used an overweight character for a change! The colors they used were splendid! They each had thier own color suits. The only thing that made me think was that Seiko *The Mother/ aka Mother* just seemed way too young! They do say her age, but I think she looked young in this anime. I guess I'm being very critical right there, but if that was my only gripe then you know it's got the quallity! Story: Take a very disfunctional family give them a card that looks like a credit card or a calling card; give them special powers. Give them money for saving the world, and make them pay for using Super weapons. That is what you get out of a very enjoyable story! The story just spelled out NOT BEEN DONE! In my honest opinion. I feel that this is one of those animes all anime lovers can enjoy, because the characters are all different! I'm sure some can even see themeselves as one of them. I know I can. Enjoyability: Great story... great subtitles, and perfect sound round out why this anime got a 9 out of 10 for enjoyability. The Compression does take away from being a perfect HK Dvd, but putting Perfect and HK together really doesn't make that much sense anyway! I do like one of the aliens they made. It's pretty funny. They used SHENMUE for this alien character. I'm sure you're confused by now about that. Let me explain. If you have ever played Shenmue I; then you know about where Ryo lives on top of that hill. Well Tai runs up that hill to where a temple is and looks on the side of it to find a cat in a box. I swear if you've played the game and watch this anime you'll find yourself laughing!! To conclude... I would like to say that every should buy this delightful anime. It's not a deep anime, but that's it's charm. Very light but has a nice kick!
